The ankle-length skirt has been worn long and proud embraced by Brisbane fashionista's as a trend from A/W 2010. Trend forecasts in WGSN as a "new multi-layered aesthetic" the trend has been evoked from the past and intrigued by fading memories. The key colours of the seasonal trend have been kept neutral, Khaki is featured in the pictured look. The contemporary neutral stimulates the consumer by desire for emotional connections. WGSN colour analysis for A/W 2010 predicted a dominance of neutrals. Relatable to the classic look the colour has remained nostalgic. "Nostalgic for colour that has lived before and has a sense of history." Designers have infused their own aesthetic into the trend with draping different fabrics appearing at Max Mara A/W 2010/11 runway show. The look has been picked up by Style.com "turning out demure yet dramatic skirts that skim the upper shins, graze the ankles, or fall gracefully somewhere in between." Social networking has further popularised the trend by admired fashion blogs, such as The Sartorialist and Gary Pepper Vintage. Ready to wear on Brisbane streets, the featured look is complete with another trend from A/W 2010, the felt floppy hat.
